If we agree with spirituality then soul has a significance or else it is simply the mind or human consciousness that is controlling us and claiming to be me. As far human knowledge goes the consciousness or the vital energy resides in our brain’s cerebral cortex as in form of dominant elector chemical impulses, the ability behind reasoning and interpreting reality into meaningful universal fact is till now unknown which makes a soul or mind to be existent. The saying of Lybnits that everything stands on the principle of reason is the principle which implicates reality. Before I start let me put a prefix, here where I mention Man it refers to human, (man or woman), and where I put He it refers to both He or she. I think ‘value’ refers to the assumption of an entity evaluated against its urgency and usage pertaining to its purpose. And from general understanding we know nothing has a value unless we associate a value with it. This We is under concern now, whether it is me or something else.
I use to think a Man isn’t human until he understand humor. Humor maybe the fragmented version of the state of tranquility. Only human can laugh and can create fun out of something. In another way we may say human is not at all human until he proves that he has a mind which is imaginative enough to create artistic styles and choose among equal value alternatives. Bartrnd Russel mentioned somewhere in his lectures that only human mind is capable enough to fall into boredom. We see Human are such that they can adopt to any given situation but its concept on mind is, it shall be partially obscure always and tends to continue eternally. Whether this concept is man made or it is practical truth is the crux of this discussion. Sigmund Froyed’s explanation of conscious, subconscious and the margin of conscious may or may not exist but it surely exist that we have a hidden core mind, which claims that it is me and I believe that this me is synonymous to what we call as our soul. This article can’t be understood by those who are born long ago, when life was slow and there was peace everywhere engulfed with unexplained emotions, in those days human mind’s value may have been higher to this day when scientists are trying to figure out mind’s architecture to implement it into machinery and robotics.
Before I initiate my say, here is few more thing I like to put forward, in many occasion I told others that a humanly act is such that it has a mind’s involvement, say for example a curtain’s purpose is privacy but we make it colorful unnecessarily or maybe we associate our mind’s involvement with it, the fact is, a human does humanly task and it claims to be connected with mind’s artistic styles. Secondly “me”, “I”, “self”, “soul”, “mind”, “intellect” all seems to me as ambiguous, rather it may all refers to a single word termed as human consciousness, this consciousness or the vital energy, where does it reside? A recent findings of scientists that a virus maybe responsible for human consciousness at the beginning. Even then question remains, from where did this bridge from non-living to life come from. The rolling reality over time and human race in it seems too much obscure to comprehend unless we identify ourselves exactly the way we are. The resultant of this analysis surely connects it to the purpose of human life and the expanding Universe.
It is more or less generally accepted assumption that the slow indulging mentality which gives human to create art affects is slowly getting lost and the controversy is, it isn’t eliminating rather getting institutionalized. In old times there were local artist known or unknown and now those art affects are bring collected and put into books so that it be reproducible and replaceable to many other minds. There might be many other alternative analysis of the discussed matter but here is what I can think of.
1.01 Is there a Spiritual body other then the one I am conscious with?
Among many Islamic scholars, one is Imarn Nazar hossain (INH), once in his lecture he said that there suppose to be a spiritual self of each individual, quoting a Hadith he said that, Prophet Muhammad (SAW) was saying, see how pure the Sahaba's soul is and Angels are giving a bath to his departed body, he said this while He (SAW) was looking upwards. The dead body was laying on the sand of the war field. Question stands why then He (SAW) was looking up and saying so? mentioning this hadith INH concluded that everyone has a spiritual body then the one visible in this reality. Whether this spiritual body refers to the soul of that person wasn’t clearly explained in his talk. In other references Mahatma Gandhi said he hears a thin voice in the background of his mind. He also said that everyone listens to this thin background voice; some agrees to hear it and others don’t. Rabandranath Tagore told in his article on literature “Shahitte’r kotha” human mind seeks to replicate its core emotions to many other minds and that is the sole purpose of all arts and literature.
The spiritual self is a matter to be discussed on its authenticity. From rational point of view we experience life as, I feel the world surrounding me and I am in it acting as per the situation demands. This role of actions do not necessarily ensures a soul behind the activities took place. In my view an act of human is humanly only when it has been designed by its mind’s conscious participation. Acting over an event with the style of mind that it thinks fit. To me mind is a biochemical entity whose soul is a spiritual concept that it is human. The soul must satisfy the ownership of the body and mind, mind therefore becomes a kind of operational entity and its operator is the soul. This explanation is valid only when we accept spirituality i.e. reality beyond material world. If we don’t then soul is simply a myth. A myth that soul never persists and exists eternally.
1.02 Does Male soul differs from Female soul?
Assuming soul does exist as a spiritual entity within our earthly body and mind, Question comes up whether male soul is different from female soul. In doctor’s view female brain works differently then male brain, it was a long gone view that male are more stronger to female but today they are same as equal, in religious scriptures males are more prioritize than female, and in family tree follows the male generations. Things may have been different in ancient time but the running reality is carrying this culture. Question is do they think that as female brain works differently then their soul is different as-well?! And in the judgement day when all are equally judged and will they be differently judged against on their male-female features? When a child is born, he or she do not know the gender, it is long afterwards they realize that they are trapped into different body types. Christians belief that a soul is born with the Sin of Adam and eve, but Muslim belief says they are born free. Hindu belief that souls gets born over and over again until their sin converts into Null is similar concept of the Buddhists beliefs of Nirvana. Soul trapped into human body is itself a concept, but the soul has no gender is a common belief. How does a soul feels the reality unless or until observing the outer world with its brain and or the eye viz. five sensors. Can a soul think? If so then how does it think without the brain? Can a soul feel? If so then how does it feel with out interpreting emotions? It senses the reality and concludes that it is existent. From this we can see that the soul is nor a male or a female rather their attributes to this reality may differ as per their perceived experiences on reality. When a Muslim believes that every good man will find plenty of female angles in heaven, those who were never touched by any other male, how do they accept it not questioning what will happen to every good women? Will not also they get plenty of male angles, specially those who didn’t touch any other women before !!. Religious systems are built in a way that you can’t question basics, even if you may have a question in your mind. Either you believe blindly or you may get lost. Yes you will get an answer but that answer is preconditioned to be accepted blindly. Answers of what ever that is can’t be questioned on its authenticity. Therefore we should conclude that a soul in a male body and or in a female body do not differ at all. And if they don’t differ at all then all human have same soul with different face mask with similar but distinctive body parts. Every soul if completely same in shape then why their activities and attitude differs in real world? Well that will be discussed elsewhere, lets first decide whether soul really exists as a supernatural entity or is it just a superior evolved matter!?
2.01 Is my soul a separate entity? or am I representing the soul myself?
A soul can’t feel itself unless otherwise it receives reflections of its sent emotional signals to others. If it doesn’t receive replies from anyone it is helpless to figure out its own shape, therefore a soul seeks others to establish its presence. This is what I claim to be the reason behind human tendencies on seeking response from others, also maybe the reason behind feeling happy when someone communicates positively. When was I born and how did I come to this conscious level is a surprising fact, the rolling over time my mind grew or the consciousness developed with building up knowledge and experiences. With my mind set if I don’t like this conscious world it won’t stop, knowing that I have no control over the happenings of the reality and my part in it and even if I wish to end it or wish to stop perceiving, is beyond by capacity or control. I am not telling about killing myself, I am just saying as I consciously understand that whatever is happening around me isn’t controlled by me and if I wish to deny its proceedings or try to rewind back few moments, I am simply unable to do so. In spiritual scriptures it has never been declared that the soul will be nonexistent ever-after and is by default eternal. Human history shows us that once all believed the entire universe is circling around the Earth, then the Sun and they believed it so as because they are proud of their own existence and proud of being superior to all other being around. This superiority complex drove them to believe in untrue assumptions put to conviction. The perceived knowledge of human race seems to be like trial and error, the oldest books gives us an idea of how it was build in six days and how long ago may it have been built, but the scientific facts tells us that the formation of this earth is much much longer to what those old books told us. If we consider the cosmic calendar as pictured by the modern scientists, we shall see human race is a tiny part of the entire history and the way it is proceeding that its destruction is nearby, as per old books say that the entire universe shall be destructive with the event of human race to end but scientific facts proves that it may not be needed to end the entire universe to end human race. Human race may end by their wrong doings and still then the universe may keep on evolving. The life of Sun is lot shorter then the expected big crunch of the universe as per new books of science and their predictions are so large that it is nearly impossible to comprehend by normal living human beings. Scientific exploration changed the understanding of the entire universe era after era and increased human knowledge but it failed to answer the theory of everything. Science seems to act like box inside box, like a magic box which may unfold new unknown reality anytime from now on. How can one put trust in something which is continuously exploring other than the old and new books of religion which claims to be the absolute truth and never changeable?
If Soul is a separate entity then me then how do we define it? Legendary spiritual singer Lalon Shah’s song on soul, “Khachar vitor Achin pakhi, Kamnay Achay jai?” [How does the sprite bird gets in and out of the cage] is the same question I am asking here. He said it is an unknown bird, he also said comes and goes out, we generally know it goes out at death, but how and when does it gets in? His query on this was never answered by anyone, people love the song but they didn’t get to the point of his asking. What perhaps all other have thought is, Lalon Shah is referring to the spiritual soul with lot of devotion and so they should also feel the same, but the song itself is a question and a divine query ! why don’t they realize it? This is beyond my understanding that the song itself asks for explanation and people listing to it simply ignores it.
2.02 It isn’t exactly soul search I am talking about
Soul searching is different from what I am discussing here, soul search refers to that tendency of any individual who is trying to understand himself and his own tendencies, soul search is prior to the acceptance of soul being existent. My discussion is whether souls exists or not, or are we misinterpreting mind’s functionality with soul. In one line some one may say from birth to death the continuous conscious stimuli can be biologically termed as the mind and or the soul. In their view point mind and soul are synonymous. The concept of soul only exist when we agree to spirit, when we agree to religious belief. Agreeing to a religious belief is a personal choice, Religion provides complete solve to the problems of individuals vis-a-vis cluster of people in a way that the way prescribed is the absolute truth. As far as I know and understand that all religious dogma fall into ideas of metaphysics, which maybe termed as idealistic metaphysics. In All religious beliefs the human soul has been described in a way that it will never perish, Like the reality of energy or conservation of energy that it never perish but transforms into one form to another, such like human soul transforms at death to real world and returns to the same reality until it has been totally purified. This not perish feature of soul seems to be man made as they like their soul so much that it can ever perish is out of the question. In hereafter you may live forever or in hell burn forever but you shall not perish or decay to complete Null, this is the message of some religion.
3.01 Mixing spirit with matter
Many may have seen how religious people try to mix sprite with matter, lets see some examples, like the CNG taxi driver in India pronams the Gonesh every time he starts with a customer and as if he expects Gonesh to help him in the journey, Similarly in every initiative a Muslim will start with the Tasmia (in the name of his most merciful and compassionate Lord, who is one and only and the king of all heavens). All these activity are termed mixing spirit with matter, in other words relating spiritual world with the material world. Therefore it is clear that the person who do not believe in spiritual world do not actually believe in the existence of soul at all, for him soul is a misinterpretation of the material brain where mind acts as its operational live entity.
Question stands here why do people believe in spirit? A super nature is in their belief, in antient time when there were no control over the nature by human they worshiped air, water, fire and everything that is beyond their limited capacity of control, over the time they grew their wisdom and got the power to take control over few natural powers. They started to understand the process and procedures by which this Nature rolls over time, they can now forecast and use this nature to solve their problems, parallel to these advancements the concept on reality, life and the universe changed. Religious concepts didn’t change as they are born as ideas of metaphysics. Human now have control over many Natural happenings and their submission to uncertainty reduced therefore dependency on super natural decreased and more trust shifted to the exploration of scientific research. Though Science couldn’t answer the final and fundamental question of why and how this reality came into being and where is its destiny. Therefore the space for religion still exists, the world of super natural spirit still exist in human minds. Each of the religion claims to be the absolute truth and provides plenty of logical, emotional and material evidences to prove that they are the only absolute truth. This material world is temporary and the truth is the eternal super natural world hereafter, in this world everything perish and decay but in super natural nothing perish or decay. A place where everything is perfect and in that world no one will have any pain or problem.
As human can’t sense this reality except the data of five sensors therefore if there is a world of many dimensions beyond that five sensors can detect then human are unable to comprehend that world, Say if there is a super natural world beyond this palpable world then how to determine that it really exist? Basically this particular paradox is the same paradox of idealism verses materialism vis a vis dialectics verses metaphysics. This paradox is in human mind and it can’t be ever solved.
3.02 What if mind is the only existent biochemical entity of human being?
In bare eyes what we see, not with rational thinking but only what generally what we perceive by simple human eye. The reality is harsh and we have very few control over it, the explanation of Atheists are that by evaluation from the superb coincidence (which happened by default, with no reason at all like natural selection, it happened so it happened) the life forms evaluated from water to land then from lizards to mammals and the brain inside these living organism developed, or evaluated and formed the ultimate complex cerebral cortex. In this view of angle human are super animal (human might mind saying so) or superior animal and to this way of speaking mind is a super matter and its functionality is the mind, which takes rest, goes to suspend mode and rise again to struggle and to survive for better living. From birth to death this evolved stimulation existing in the brain is the mind itself.
There are many ways a mind can represent itself in its own identification, or maybe the individual summaries its shape by the reflections from other souls. The tendency to think aloud by creating a virtual secondary self is a way of thinking which itself try to analyze self by pretending to be a Separate entity. This perhaps is the common tendency to the soul search or maybe it’s a helpful tool to look at myself from a different point of view. As per my perception the secondary self is non existent and is created to identify the self itself. These concepts do not have a base on which it can be fully explained. Thinking aloud help understand critical thought patterns which grows in our mind. We sense, we interpret and then we analyze it with previous experiences, we make meaning of those senses connecting them with our wisdom basics. This virtual self helps to think better and nothing else. Human mind can’t be put to test tubes and then experiment over it therefore understanding self depends upon our gross assumption or intuition.
As like Sigmund froid enlightened us with conscious, sub conscious and the margin of conscious and someone tried to embed another segment into it like putting a super conscious within it, the talks on sixth sense and intuition surely gives us terminology pertaining to human mind, I am not talking about the anatomy of the brain, where is the pain center and where is the laughter, the excitement and the stimuli. Our cerebral cortex do have the ability to think, if thoughts can be defined as meaningful stimulus translated into reasons and which can be stored or memorized and reinterpreted into higher analysis then these collective stimulus can be termed as the biological mind living in the brain’s neuron cells. And if so and so then in robots it shall be collection of electro chemical stimulus build in synthetic nerve like cells of their artificial brain. Maybe some day that will come to reality but the question will still remain whether these all were existent by a coincidence or by the desire of a super existence.
The secret behind matter documentary by Harun yahya shows that the brain is in a complete closed black and blind box where outer world’s light can’t enter except they signals of the eye, we can’t feel the outer world without our five sensors, there is no way to prove that others exist or the outer world exist unless we accept spirituality. Perception of reality is the reality itself background say of a computer simulation game talks the same, the universal paradox of the ideology and matter is eternal and the ultimate camouflage of the rolling reality over time. Another complex assumption maybe time is not moving rather its interpretation is present, past and future, where as we are living in the constant time, to understand time we need to explain it by its moving from past to future. When the time equation will be solved Maybe that will drop the curtain of this world’s reality drama.
4.00 Mind/Heart/Brain are material definition and Soul is spiritual definition of me and myself
Conceptual amalgamation creates all the misinterpretation among Allaiance of Good. It has been mentioned in the book “the Alliance of Good” by Harun yahya that devil (evil force) is afraid of the alliance of good. What we mean by good is a different Issue. If we concentrate here, I mean what we mean by brain is that it is the collection of neurons/nerve system which produces electro chemical impulses which in tern become interpret able into thought stimuli, the resisting stimulus of these impulses maybe called as the mind or heart itself, the mind operates claiming itself the self (or the soul) and when we say Heart we mean the part of mind which is the center or core of our mind which deals with feelings. Mind’s conscious part deals with thoughts related to functionality and Mind’s margin of conscious or the subconscious deals with the thoughts related to emotions and feelings which are boundlessness and beyond meanings inside our mind. So we see that the Brain being the hardware and mind is its operating entity acts as like software operations. If so and so then what is the soul? Who is the soul? And where does it live. The famous spiritual legend singer of Bangladesh Lalon shah’s song, “Khacher bhitor Ochin pakhi kamnay Ashe-jai?” {how does the unknown bird of the cage enters and releases} basically addressing the same query I am trying to discuss here. He didn’t give a clue to it and there is no spiritual definition or explanation of soul in even religious scriptures. What has been told by Islamic Scholar in answer to this question was that, it hasn’t been said as because if this shall disclose the existence of human may fall into destroy, as like matter to antimatter destruction syndrome. Who am I? where am I from, What is the objective of living or this reality, When will it end, if it ends after that what will happen, these basic questions are still unknown to human intellect. Putting some assumption to these questions and making them conviction entire world activity are rolling on, as if these questions are never to be solved.
When people are put to such discussion, in general their tendencies are like, they start thinking on it instantly and try to put a quick assumption to put an end on it, where as a conclusive judgement was asked from him. Existence of Human and its soul should have been a subject in primary education, but please check the text books, it seems these issues should not be taken into importance so somehow ignored. This itself is surprising enough to think that some sort of conspiracy is going on. From my office library I choose a book to give my kids which is a kind of picture based encyclopedia, opening the book the first chapter starts with how human evolved from monkeys, now this evaluation theory isn’t accepted to those who believe in spirituality, then why you hide the truth. Tell us simply that human race hasn’t yet conclusively decided from where they came from.
5.00 Concluding this thinking session
The purpose of my write ups are to explore my own thoughts, expressed in a good words so that if anyone receives the thoughts and find interest will reflect his ideas to me, so that I might get a clue on where I went wrong, I clearly know that in this fast moving world there might be one in a million who might show any sort of interest to read it and approximately out of 10 million one might express any comment, this concludes that I might never get a comment back in my life time, but history shows that many people got a reply to their works long after their death. It isn’t a wish on expecting a big WOW or MAW from some one, rather I need comments from another thoughtful soul to rectify if I go wrong anywhere and if I am to be appreciated by a yes it was all okay, then lets have a hand shake and proceed on further with higher thinking. Therefore if anyone wish to comment he or she should comment with reasoning on why and why not, or else it would come to no use. I have seen many people who writes or does any thing for public praise, they ask for a appreciation, but I am writing to bring out my own thoughts, this write up took longer time so far and it is directly connected to the purpose of life and the universe surrounding us. I took time and checked it over and over again and found out that reaching a conclusive decision is nearly impossible in this issue, rather it will change over experiencing and exploring till death. I also have found out that sometime we bring out reason for the wish fulfillment, it is as if we know the result and we find reasons to support it. I go forth and back asking my own self whether what I am writing out is what I believe and whether that is or should be the naked truth. I also agree that I didn’t follow the thesis – antithesis = synthesis analogy, rather I believe that our mind works random parallel in many channels, we grasp into few of them time to time and can get reach of some and some are lost forever, this is my assumption without any reasoning. As I said before that human mind is believed to be such like that it shall be partially obscure always, by definition it will protect its obscure nature to claim that it is sophisticated.
Bottom line is always one shot triggered to the target, and for this write up, it is simple: If one agree to spirituality then soul exists as a separate entity then what I am as a unique body and mind. And if I am a hard core materialist then it is there is soul in the material brain as a superb electro chemical impulses and it isn’t eternal but is evolving along with the expanding universe. My purpose of this write up was to choose among this two alternatives the conclusive truth. I am afraid one can’t choose either one with rational thinking but pic blindly of any to be the exact truth. Maybe when the theory of everything (a co-relation between expanding universe and the uncertainty principal of quantum mechanics) will be solved then one might find a clue to choose one rationally. But it is too much to ask to happen within my life time.
We do have a bottom line here though: if you believe in soul i.e. sprite or spirituality do search for a true religion and if you don’t then you are complete Atheist.
